Braxton Berrios (5’10/170) of Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, N.C. is only 15 years old. He had a good freshman year and performed very well at several combines this spring. This season, Berrios has taken his game to a new level.
“Braxton has the highest ceiling of any kid on our football team,” said head coach Chad Smothers.
He is not focused on recruiting right now, but does have some tentative plans.
“It is really early in the recruiting process,” said Berrios. “Next Spring, I am probably going to go to the Nike and Under Armour combines."
Berrios will also likely check out some schools next summer.
“A few of camps that I might go to are Miami, North Carolina State, Georgia, and North Carolina,” he said.
Berrios is wide open as far as recruiting, but did say he grew up following a particular team.
“I have always been a Miami fan. I have a lot of family from that area,” Berrios said.
Leesville Road is 7-0 this season. Berrios has been a big part of the team’s success. A versatile prospect, Berrios, plays running back, wide receiver, cornerback, and kick returner for the Pride.
He has close to 400 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving. The sophomore has 13 total touchdowns. The Leesville Road standout also has five interceptions on defense. Berrios bench presses 275 pounds, squats 410, and runs the forty yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
