“I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” said Gregory Milhouse. “As far as FCS schools, the facilities are top-notch. It also reminded me of high school, because Garner is a football town. I felt the same thing about Appalachian State and Boone”
By the end of the weekend, Milhouse knew that Boone was where he wanted to be.
“I just felt that it was the best school for me and my family,” he said. “I love Coach (Jerry) Moore also; he is one of the best coaches I have met. I just got that feeling and felt like I was at home.”
The Garner defensive lineman feels like he has a great opportunity at Appalachian State.
“They run a 3-4 and I will probably play on the end,” said Milhouse. “They also want to play some 4-3 this year and I would play tackle then. I feel like I can come in and play right away and make an impact.”
He choose the Mountaineers over offers from Navy, Air Force, Richmond, Gardner-Webb, Elon, and Western Carolina. The Garner standout will sign with the Mountaineers on Wednesday.
