SAO SEBASTIAO do PARAISO, BRAZIL – Rodney Purvis scored six points as the USA Basketball Men’s U18 squad defeated the U.S. Virgin Islands 105-42 on Saturday in the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship opener for both teams.

Team USA returns to action on Sunday afternoon when it faces Mexico at 1 p.m. as it tries to improve to 2-0 in Group A action.
