Indy Wins 69th straight game with Shutout

With the nation’s longest winning streak on the line, Independence welcomed the Vikings of North Meck to the Patriots stadium for a heated battle of Mecklenburg counties top teams.

The Vikings hobbled in to the game missing a key component to their offense. Qb Robert Irvin broke his ankle last week in a 31-17 victory of West Meck.

It didn’t take long for the Patriots to jump out to an early lead. Joe Cox hit his two of his favorite receivers for early scores. Indy was able to continue the early pace that was set during the first quarter. Massaquoi, Wiggins, and Ingram all saw the endzone early; both Massaquoi and Ingram made multiple visits.

The Vikings couldn’t get into a rhythm that was comfortable to them. For the game they had -7 yards of total offense. Monte' Boyd lead the Vikings in rushing with 10 yards

Next week the North Meck Vikings will be at home hosting the Rams of Harding High, while the Patriots of Independence will travel to Cabarrus County to attempt extend the nations longest winning streak against the Central Cabarrus Vikings.
