Allen Becomes the Latest Pirate

Sean Allen

Shortly after the East Carolina coaching staff made an in-home visit in December, Sean Allen decided to end his recruitment with a verbal commitment to the Pirates.

"[I committed to ECU because of] the location – they're right down the road from Wilson, and they're a program on the rise," said Allen.

Allen, a 6-foot-4 290-pound offensive lineman from Wilson (N.C.) Hunt, then officially visited East Carolina in early January to finalize his pledge. During his Greenville stay, Allen spent plenty of time being part of the team.

"I went to a banquet the first night," said Allen. "Later on that night I hung out with one of the players [Eric Graham]. I hung out with him for most of the weekend."

The Pirates plan to use Allen to add depth to their right tackle position.

Over the summer, Allen landed his only other division I-A scholarship offer from Virginia Tech, but the Hokies decreased their recruiting efforts in the fall.

With Allen anchoring the offensive line, Hunt ended the 2005 season with a 12-2 record including making it to the third round of the NCHSAA 3A playoffs.
