“I’m still going to look at other schools,” said Neal. “I’m keeping my options still open, but Notre Dame is where it’s at, right now.”
Currently, those options include East Carolina and Wake Forest, as they join Notre Dame with a scholarship offer. Additionally, Neal is interested in North Carolina and N.C. State.
However, Neal maintains his pledge to the Irish is strong.
“It’s one of the top programs in the country,” said Neal.
Neal has yet to step foot within a 600-mile radius of Notre Dame’s campus, but his family is in the process of setting up a trip to South Bend this month.
Although Neal is being pursued for linebacker, he was named conference defensive player-of-the-year as a junior for his play at defensive end. He collected 111 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and two interceptions. Neal also caught 16 passes for 323 yards and six touchdowns on offense.
