Shrine Bowl Combine Dates Set

NC Prep Report
Posted Jan 10, 2008

The Shrine Bowl Combine Tour has reduced to just three stops this season – Taylorsville, Matthews, and Apex.

The Shrine Bowl Combine Tour provides an opportunity for high school football players to demonstrate skills needed for athletic scholarships and possible Shrine Bowl selection.

The tour will kick off on April 12th at Taylorsville (N.C.) Alexander Central High School. Things will continue the following Saturday (April 19th) at Matthews (N.C.) Butler High School, and then conclude on April 26th at Apex (N.C.) High School.

All three combines are for rising seniors only, and will measure height and weight and test vertical jump, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, and bench press repetitions of 185 pounds. Each participant will also work with position coach going through a series of football related drills.

Registration for each combine will begin at 9:30 am for kickers, punters, and long snappers, and 10 am for other position players. Cost is $20 and participants should also bring video for evaluation.
